About me

I’m Annelies, and I’m privileged to be a marriage celebrant. I’m Auckland based but I also have links to the Coromandel Peninsula and am happy to travel there or other places outside of Auckland.

I love my work as a celebrant, working with couples to create the ceremony they want. I am a qualified celebrant and a member of CANZ (Celebrant Aotearoa, the Celebrants’ Association of NZ) which provides a network of fellow celebrants as well as having a Code of Ethics for celebrants.

A little about me: My career has been in adult education, both teaching and management of a languages department at a tertiary institution. Writing, public speaking and really listening to people were part of my role so these are some of the skills that I bring to my work as a marriage celebrant.

In addition to my celebrancy work, I teach English to adults part-time, which is where I started my career quite a few years ago. My students are migrants and former refugees and my life has been enriched by learning about different cultures and beliefs.

In my spare time, I love being with family, especially my grandchildren, and friends, enjoying the NZ beaches and bush. I enjoy walking and have done a number of NZ’s Great Walks. I also enjoy learning languages and travel.
